Morrilton High School Celebrates Record Success in Advanced Placement Program
Morrilton, AR – August 7, 2024 – Morrilton High School (MHS), part of the South Conway County School District, proudly announces a landmark achievement in its Advanced Placement (AP) program. This year, MHS has seen a record number of students enrolling in AP courses and taking AP tests, with over 70 students earning scores high enough to qualify for college credit.
MHS offers ten AP courses, reflecting a commitment to providing students with rigorous academic challenges and opportunities for higher education advancement. The remarkable performance of this year’s AP students underscores the dedication of both the students and the faculty to academic excellence.
John Atkins, AP Coordinator at South Conway School District, confirmed that 74 students who participated in AP exams this year passed with scores of 3 or higher, earning them college credit. Among these students, 7 achieved perfect scores, a testament to their hard work and determination. In recognition of their achievement, students meeting the criteria earned a total of $8,000 from the State of Arkansas and the SCCSD.
