Due to winter weather, Thursday, February 12, is a Snow Make-Up Day, and students will be in school (PreK–12).

The South Conway County School District Board of Education proudly honored Buck Joyner and Craig Mullins for 15 years of faithful service to the scholars, staff, and community of SCCSD. Their steady leadership, wise stewardship, and long-term vision have helped position our district for lasting success.
During their tenure, SCCSD experienced transformational growth in both facilities and learning, including:
🏫 Facilities, Safety & Student Spaces
• The 2015 millage election providing a safe room on every campus
• Rebuilding Morrilton Primary School
• Construction of Devil Dog Arena
• Major improvements to Devil Dog Stadium
• Secured entrances and safety upgrades across campuses
• Expansion of athletic and student facilities through Devil Dog Yard
📚 Curriculum & Academic Growth
• Implementation of high-quality instructional materials across grade levels
• Districtwide focus on Science of Reading and strong early literacy foundations
• Implementation of Illustrative Math K-12
• Continued emphasis on data-driven instruction and student growth
📈 Academic Outcomes
• Morrilton Junior High School earning an “A” rating
• South Conway County School District earning an overall “B” rating from the State of Arkansas
• Sustained academic growth while maintaining a strong focus on student safety and opportunity
Because of their service, SCCSD is stronger, safer, and more focused on student learning than ever before. Their leadership leaves a lasting legacy for our scholars, staff, and community.

Gabe earned a spot in the All State Male Chorus 2026! He will perform with this group on February 21st at noon at the Hot Springs Convention Center. He worked very hard and learned a difficult German choral work to achieve this spot. So proud of his work ethic and determination.
